Craigie Hall,
Rowan Road,
1872,
John Honeyman.
Craigie Hall, designed in 1872 by John Honeyman, has an exterior which is largely plain with some Italianate features.
To the east a lower link connects to a large service wing.
Later additions by John Keppie and Charles Rennie Mackintosh add many Art Nouveau features.
Prior to the 1892 Art Nouveau additions, the hall was decorated in a classical style with marbled walls and columns.
The library, designed for Thomas Mason, is notable for the Art Nouveau styling of the bookshelves and glass doors.
The most prominent feature in the reception room is the ornate plasterwork on the ceiling and frieze.
Mackintosh's early style is evident in the music room, particularly in the large case for the organ."
