In Activity 2
you looked at the ceiling of the parlour and at the sunburst pattern in the
middle of it.
Drawing patterns is interesting but the drawings need to be accurate, or the
pattern does not look right.
When you look at the image of the upstairs ceilings you will notice that they
have stars as patterns.

You will notice that the stars on this ceiling have got five points.
Here is a five-pointed
star you can draw with protractor and ruler.

First draw a regular pentagon i.e. all sides the same length and each internal
angle 108 degrees. Then draw in the diagonals to get the star.
Try and draw a six-pointed star the same way. On both of these draw in colour the lines of symmetry. How many are in each?
