Activity 17: From 2D to 3D

Here you will see different directional drawings of the house plans.







These are called elevations.

You need these different elevations to get an idea of what the three dimensional shape of the house will be. So when a building is drawn as a plan it needs a floor plan and other elevations e.g. front, side.

Here is a plan of a cuboid with letters on the sides along with the necessary elevations:



Now use these drawings to make a 3D drawing of this cuboid. It should look like this:



Here are some more drawings. Try to draw the 3D drawing. If each of the opposite faces are the same you could make a paper or card cuboid with the correct shapes in the correct places.
