Activity 13: STRAIGHT LINES

There are several special types of straight line e.g.

equal lines
parallel lines
perpendicular lines i.e. at right angles

Here is a rectangle with its corners identified by letters: the letters at each end of the line identify the line.

In this rectangle

AB equals CD
AC equals BD
AB is parallel to CD
AC is parallel to BD

What pairs of lines are perpendicular to each other?

Draw a small section of this in your book e.g.

Now mark in red examples of lines that are equal, in blue examples of lines that are perpendicular and in green examples of lines that are parallel.
